Founded in 2021, Renuvi was born from U.S. engineers and chemists at the forefront of nuclear energy to create the next generation of energy storage technology designed for the unique needs of the world’s power grids. Renuvi continues to innovate its proprietary technology at our research and development facility in Richland, WA.
Renuvi’s History
In 2016, William “Bill” Stokes and Thurman Cooper envisioned a battery that could meet the unique needs of nuclear energy and began research into a low cost and long lasting chemistry that scales to the demands of the power grid. From their research came a first of a kind chemistry that was able to store energy using liquid sodium without the limitations of traditional battery systems.

In 2021, with a proof of concept in hand, Bill and Thurman co-founded Renuvi Energy with Mike Reinboth to commercialize their unique battery chemistry into a revolutionary Always-On product that solves the ever growing demand for a reliable, safe, low cost form of large scale energy storage.
After several years of research and development with a growing team of engineers and innovative business professionals, Renuvi has scaled our efforts by working closely with utility partners, developers, and industry insiders to meet the unique market needs of reliable and consistent energy through a balanced, resilient power grid.
